Pescave (Hijos de Emilio Ramírez, S.A.) is a manufacturer of fishmeal and fish oils. Emilio Ramírez Canales is the president of this company, which has been run by the Ramírez family for three generations.
Pescave’s origins date back to the first half of the 20th Century, when the forerunner of the company, Emilio Ramírez Castaños, first began trials for producing fishmeal in Castro-Urdiales (Cantabria). Given the success of these initial activities, it was decided to move to a location more suited to the long-term development of the business, and in 1951 the plant was set up in Treto (Cantabria).
Since then, Pescave has always strived to deliver the best possible products and consequently we have forged strong, long-term working relationships with our clients.
Pescave’s factory and warehouse are located in Treto (Cantabria). At the beginning of the 21st century, Pescave made a considerable investment in technology to ensure it remained up-to-speed with the latest innovations in the fishmeal and fish oil industry. Pescave’s modern installations comply with all corresponding European regulations.
Our premises include the factory housing the production line and three warehouses for storing fishmeal. Fish oils are stored in stainless steel tanks.
Fishmeal and fish oils are produced from the by-products from fish canning and processing. Not only are these highly-valued products in themselves, they also play a role in the sustainability of the fish industry as a whole.
Both these products are subject to quality controls by our laboratory staff to guarantee that they comply with the corresponding health and animal feed regulations, and ensuring an end product of the highest quality.
